What happened in 1991

The siege of Vukovar lasted 87 days, from August to 18 November 1991. After the fall of the city, prisoners taken from Vukovar Hospital were transported to Ovčara, where more than two hundred people were killed. Vukovar was returned to Croatia in 1998 and today is a rebuilt city on the Danube and a symbol of resistance. Respect for the victims and survivors comes first: I guide without sensationalism.

What we visit

  • Vukovar Water Tower – A symbol of the city, badly damaged in the siege and rebuilt thanks to donations.
  • Memorial Cemetery of the Victims of the Homeland War – The resting place of the victims; the cemetery holds 938 white crosses.
  • Places of remembrance: Vukovar Hospital and Ovčara – Places linked to the end of the siege and the killing of prisoners taken from the hospital.
  • The city today – The restored baroque centre, Eltz Castle and the Danube promenade.

The exact schedule depends on the weather, the season and the opening hours of the institutions. We check and agree opening hours and any tickets in advance.

  1. Send the date, number of guests and language (WhatsApp, phone or email).
  2. We agree the route, duration, meeting point and price.
  3. You meet me at the agreed place and receive an invoice after the tour.
