1. Eltz Castle

You must visit Eltz Castle, an 18th-century baroque masterpiece. The castle was thoroughly restored after the war to preserve its original appearance. It now houses the Vukovar City Museum, whose collections you absolutely must see.

2. Museum of the Vučedol Culture

One of the rare museums built on the actual archaeological site. The modern building is breathtaking, as is the story of the civilization that inhabited this area as far back as the Copper Age. Learn all about the symbol of the city of Vukovar — the Vučedol Dove — and what the ancient Vučedol people used it for.

3. Vukovar Water Tower

Another symbol of the city, built in 1968, it gained special significance during the Battle of Vukovar when the Croatian tricolor flag flew from its top. Although it suffered severe damage, it was fully restored thanks to donations from more than 7,000 donors. In 2020, it was inducted into the World Federation of Great Towers.

4. Vukovar Nocturne

This is the collective name for the memorial centers and commemorative halls erected in memory of the Homeland War. It is a story of resistance, but also of the pride of a city we rightfully call the Hero City.

5. Church of St. Philip and James

The Franciscan monastery and parish church from the 18th century are located on a high plateau above the Danube. They represent one of the most powerful historical symbols of the Croatian identity of Vukovar. The Bonofest sacred music festival is held here.

6. Grand Hotel

Also known as the Workers' House, it is located in the very center of Vukovar and is the most famous example of historicist architecture. It is known for hosting the second congress of the Socialist Workers' Party in 1920, which then changed its name to the Communist Party of Yugoslavia. A total of 1.64 million euros was invested in its renovation.

7. Walkow – Craft Brewery Vukovar

At the brewery's address there is also a tasting room, which the owners describe as ideal for open-minded individuals with style and taste. The tasting room has 16 seated places and 10 standing. The brewery's capacity is 4,500 liters of beer per month, and two types of beer are currently produced: Pale Ale and Blonde Ale.

8. Adica Forest Park

Adica Forest Park is located just 2 km from the city center and is a favorite spot for recreation and relaxation among Vukovar residents. There is also a children's playground and a restaurant with a large terrace.

9. Birthplace of Lavoslav Ružička

This is the house where Croatia's first Nobel laureate, Lavoslav Ružička, was born. Today the house is managed by the Croatian Cultural Center Vukovar public institution and is a venue for various public cultural and educational events. A bust of L. Ružička, the work of Vukovar artist Branko Crlenjak, is placed in the courtyard.

10. Vukovar Murals

Vukovar is home to some of the most beautiful murals in this part of Croatia. Vukovart — Port of Art is a concept that promotes Vukovar as a place that welcomes all artists and creators of new values. The murals are works by internationally renowned artists.
